Hello! I’m Sheila, a traditional signwriter, designer and gilder. I create beautiful hand painted, hand gilded signs either on site or in my traditional workshop in Cornwall. My work includes hand painted and gilded shop fascias, windows, houses, boats, for films, pubs… in fact I can paint for you on any surface, even stone or pebbledash, unlike modern plastic vinyl signage.
I was one of the last people in the country to gain the City and Guilds in Signwork and I am also a Masters qualified graphic designer. I can originate designs if required or I am equally happy to use your designs and logotypes to create a traditional interpretation of your brand identity, colour matched and exactly as you want it.
Unlike modern vinyl signage, my work uses a tiny amount of material, contains no plastic and is by far the most sustainable, lowest carbon and most ethical choice. I find this is a positive talking point for my customers and adds significant value to their businesses while reducing the impact of plastic in the environment.
